# Career Opportunities: Join the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan)
The National Commission on Violence Against Women, known as Komnas Perempuan, serves as the primary independent national human rights institution dedicated to eliminating violence against women and upholding their fundamental rights. Established under Presidential Decree No. 181 of 1998 and reinforced by Presidential Regulation No. 8 of 2024, the commission is currently seeking dedicated professionals to join its Division of Law and Policy Reform.
Additionally, we are inviting motivated individuals to apply for a three-month internship program (June–September 2024) specifically to support the launch of the two-decade anniversary of the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence.
## Open Position 1: Assistant Coordinator – National Level Policy Analysis and Advocacy

The Division of Law and Policy Reform manages the lifecycle of legislative transformation, from initial research and budget planning to implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
Core Responsibilities
* Policy Development: Assist the Division Coordinator in conducting comprehensive legal studies and impact evaluations regarding national regulations.
* Strategic Advocacy: Lead lobbying efforts to engage legislative and executive stakeholders in strengthening women’s rights frameworks.
* Operational Planning: Draft terms of reference, prepare annual budgets, and manage detailed programmatic reports.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Map key partners across civil society, government agencies, and legislative bodies to foster constructive dialogue.
Candidate Requirements
* Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1), preferably in Law or Social Sciences.
* Experience: At least four years of relevant professional experience, specifically in human rights policy analysis.
* Technical Skills: Proficient in legal drafting and qualitative/quantitative research.
* Soft Skills: Proven ability to work in team environments, navigate high-pressure field situations, and maintain victim-centered confidentiality.

This position focuses on the unique landscape of regional policy, ensuring that local regulations are harmonized with national constitutional standards and international human rights instruments.
Core Responsibilities
* Regional Reform: Provide technical support in evaluating regional ordinances to ensure they align with the goal of eradicating violence against women.
* Advocacy & Outreach: Facilitate communication between the commission and local governmental/judicial partners.
* Program Management: Oversee the planning and budgeting of regional advocacy initiatives, ensuring adherence to internal regulations.
* Policy Documentation: Prepare detailed notes from multi-stakeholder discussions and provide actionable policy recommendations.
Candidate Requirements
* Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1), preferably in Law or Social Sciences.
* Experience: Minimum four years in policy advocacy, with a strong focus on regional human rights issues.
* Field Readiness: Willingness to travel for field assignments and manage tasks in urgent, high-stakes environments.
* Expertise: Deep understanding of victim-perspective justice and established experience in mapping regional stakeholders.
