This role is crucial for mitigating risks and ensuring absolute compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols during complex geothermal operations.
## Key Responsibilities
As a Safety Officer, you will serve as the frontline guardian of our operational sites. Your daily duties will demand meticulous attention to detail and proactive hazard management, including:
* Risk Assessment & Documentation: Formulate comprehensive Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Task Risk Assessment (TRA) documents prior to the commencement of any operational activities.
* Equipment & Compliance Audits: Conduct thorough inspections of work machinery, ensuring that all equipment certifications and operational competencies are completely valid.
* PPE Enforcement: Guarantee that every worker on-site is equipped with appropriate, fully functional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Permit Management: Prepare, submit, and eventually close out Permit to Work (PTW) documentation in strict accordance with project timelines and safety standards.
* Environmental Monitoring: Perform critical $H_2S$ gas measurements before any work begins to safeguard personnel against hazardous exposures.
* Safety Briefings & Supervision: Lead Pre-Job Safety Meetings (PJS), actively supervise fieldwork to ensure uncompromising adherence to HSE policies, and maintain precise records of all on-site safety activities.
* Reporting & Training: Draft detailed HSE performance reports and deliver impactful safety training and awareness initiatives for all field personnel.
## Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
To thrive in this demanding role, applicants must possess a specialized background in heavy industry safety management, alongside the following credentials:
* Core Documentation Skills: Demonstrated ability to independently prepare JSA and Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control (HIRADC) documents.
* Specialized Training: Must have completed formal SIKA training and possess a deep understanding of Pertamina PTW systems, with the capability to develop them.
* Industry Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience functioning as a Safety Officer within the oil and gas sector, particularly involving oil well operations.
* Technical Competence: Proven proficiency in conducting accurate $H_2S$ gas testing and measurements.
* Mandatory Certifications: Possession of a valid Oil & Gas HSE Certification is non-negotiable.
* Preferred Background: Previous direct experience working on Pertamina Geothermal Energy projects will be viewed as a distinct competitive advantage.
